My career
Two Ways to Gain Knowledge
My experience with marketing to date can be divided into two parts. First, my academic education, both at university and through self-study. Second, my practical experience, gained through workshops, as a working student, and as the head of PR and marketing at the University of Münster’s campus radio station.
This experience is further reinforced by my own interest and passion for the subject—the mechanisms behind advertising, image, and branding have long held a firm grip on me.
THE DETAILS
Knowledge of marketing and public relations
Academia
During my studies, I took a wide variety of courses in marketing.
In addition to introductory courses in marketing and strategic communication, which gave me a general overview of these fields, I was also able to take specialized courses. These included courses in image and branding, political marketing, cross-media communication, and employer branding.
This academic content was further reinforced by practical projects that covered the entire process from analysis to the finished product.
In addition, I was able to further my education through various workshops, including those in leadership communication and presentation skills.
Workplace
During my time as a working student at Rasch, I was able to apply the skills I had learned in my studies firsthand and gain new insights. This included conceptual work on branding and target audience identification, as well as more hands-on tasks in layout, design, and social media marketing.
In my role as head of the PR and Marketing Department at the University of Münster’s student radio station, I was not only responsible for the station’s internal and external communications, but also gained experience in event management and marketing, as well as in employer branding and recruiting.
Since this was a volunteer position, I was able to oversee and shape these projects from concept to completion. This gave me a particularly comprehensive and in-depth understanding of these activities.
